Terms of service
The short version: use hostcare to schedule your own Airbnb cleans, don't spam your cleaners, pay us if you stay past the trial. The long version is below.
Who you're dealing with
hostcare.app is operated by Marcin Walczak, an individual developer (“we”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use the service.
What you can do with hostcare
Use it to coordinate cleaners for short-term rental properties you own or lawfully manage. This includes:
- Importing calendars from Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or any platform exporting iCal.
- Dispatching SMS messages to cleaners you have the right to contact.
- Storing photos cleaners upload during their work.
- Exporting your own data any time.
What you can't do with hostcare
- Dispatch SMS to recipients you don't have consent to contact for cleaning coordination. This is on you, not us. If your cleaner didn't agree to get texts about cleans, don't enter their number. Repeat, serious, or deliberate violations will get your account suspended.
- Use hostcare for marketing, promotional, or unsolicited messages of any kind.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or mass-export the service.
- Run competing services using our data or infrastructure.
- Upload content (photos, notes) that is illegal, harassing, or violates third-party rights.
- Pretend to be somebody you're not when signing up.
These are the deal-breakers. If you break them, we can suspend or terminate your account without refund. We'll tell you why.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in email secure. If you think somebody else has access, email us and we'll help.
Cleaners don't have accounts. They interact with the service via signed, single-use tokens we text them. You're responsible for the phone numbers you enter being current and accurate.
Pricing and billing
Plans and prices are on the pricing page. As of this writing:
- Starter: $19/month, up to 3 properties.
- Growing: $39/month, up to 10 properties.
- Portfolio: $79/month, up to 25 properties.
All plans include a 14-day free trial. We don't require a credit card to start the trial.
Payment isn't wired up yet — during the early access period you're using the service free while we validate the product. When billing launches, we'll email you 30 days before charging anything.
Once paid billing begins: charges are monthly, in advance, via Stripe. If your payment fails, we'll email you and give you 7 days before pausing service. You can cancel any time — you keep access through the end of the billing period. We don't prorate partial-month refunds unless the cancellation was triggered by our failure to deliver the service.
Service availability
We aim to keep hostcare running 24/7. We don't guarantee it. This is a small operation — if something breaks, we fix it as fast as we can.
Scheduled maintenance usually happens off-peak (early European morning). We'll try to announce downtime in advance but don't always manage to.
SMS-specific terms
We send SMS through Twilio. You agree that:
- You have the consent of every phone number you enter as a cleaner to receive SMS from you via our service about cleaning coordination.
- Cleaners can reply STOP to opt out. That opt-out is binding. We'll surface it in your dashboard and block further SMS to that number.
- SMS costs are built into your subscription. If your usage exceeds typical cleaning coordination patterns (roughly 4× the messages a normal clean would require), we'll reach out before doing anything — but we reserve the right to limit SMS volume to protect the service.
Your data
You own your data. We're a processor on your behalf, not an owner. See the privacy policy for the specifics of what we collect and how it's handled.
If you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days (minus anything we're legally required to retain).
IP
The service, code, and design are ours. The content and data you put into the service are yours. Photos uploaded by cleaners are yours (you're responsible for the license you have with the cleaner covering that).
You grant us a limited license to use your data strictly to operate the service (e.g. storing it, displaying it back to you, transmitting SMS). We don't use it for anything else.
No warranty
We provide hostcare “as is.” Cleaning coordination is a business-critical workflow for you, and we take that seriously, but we can't guarantee zero bugs or zero downtime. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure against every possible attack, or meet specific requirements beyond what's described on the marketing page.
Specifically: if a cleaner fails to show up, gets the wrong address, doesn't get the SMS, or uploads blurry photos, that's not a breach by us. We provide the tool; coordination with your cleaner is your responsibility.
Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for anything related to hostcare is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the issue arose (or $100, whichever is greater). We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or business-loss damages — including missed cleans, bad guest reviews, or lost bookings.
This isn't us being cavalier — this is how software vendors operate. If you need broader warranties or higher liability limits, pick an enterprise product. For what we charge, this is the deal.
Indemnification
If a third party sues us because of your use of the service (most likely scenario: you texted someone who hadn't consented and they sued for a TCPA violation), you'll cover our legal costs and any damages awarded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. If you're in the EU, your local consumer-protection laws still apply to the extent they're more protective than what's written here. Disputes go to the courts of Warsaw, Poland, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to sue closer to home.
Changes
If we change these terms materially, we'll email every active account at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. Small clarifications we'll just edit here and bump the “last updated” date.
Termination
You can close your account from Settings at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data.
